Requirements:
- Possesses a minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Logistics /Maritime Transportation & Operations / Maritime Management / Environmental / Marine Science, Maritime Economics, or other related subjects
- Candidates with a Masters degree will have an advantage
- Preferably with at least three years of working experience. Working experience in research in the maritime field would be an advantage
- Proficient in written and spoken Bahasa Melayu and English
- Literate in the Microsoft Windows environment
- Strong interest in research-based work
- Resourceful and industrious
- Able to work well in a result-oriented environment, whether individually or in a team setting, work within tight deadlines, and multi-task.

(Centre for Coastal and Marine Environment – CMER)

Location: Center for Coastal and Marine Environment, Maritime Institute of Malaysia (MIMA), Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Type: Full-Time
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct research on various aspects of coastal and marine environment management.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret data related to ecosystems protection, coastal and
- marine biodiversity conservation, marine pollution prevention, climate change adaptation, and green shipping.
- Develop and implement research methodologies and frameworks.
- Prepare detailed reports, policy briefs, and academic papers based on research findings.
- Collaborate with other researchers, policymakers, and stakeholders to ensure the relevance and impact of research outputs.
- Participate in conferences, workshops, and seminars to present research findings and network with professionals in the field.
- Contribute to the development of project proposals and seek funding opportunities.

The Maritime Institute of Malaysia (MIMA) – formerly known as Malaysian Institute of Maritime Affairs - is a policy research institute set up by the Malaysian Government to look into matters relating to Malaysia's interest at sea, and to serve as a national focal point for research in the maritime sector. Established in 1993, MIMA was incorporated under the Companies Act 1965, as a company limited by guarantee and not having a share capital, with its own Board of Directors.
The Institute takes a comprehensive approach in dealing with maritime issues. Its role is to deal with national, regional and global maritime matters affecting Malaysia. MIMA is therefore expected to contribute towards a meaningful, comprehensive and cogent national maritime policy for Malaysia
