1. STRATEGY & PLANNING
Accountability & Responsibility:
Develop and utilize advanced financial models to evaluate current investment performance and support business planning processes.
Conduct comprehensive financial forecasting, projections, and scenario analyses to inform strategic decision-making and investment evaluations, ensuring alignment of NED’s strategy with TNB Reimagining Tenaga (RT) targets.
Evaluate and provide advice on business plans and related assumptions (e.g., asset management plan, value creation plan, and value protection plan) of investment companies, considering global market developments and trends in the energy sector.
Conduct thorough market and business environment analyses to identify potential investment opportunities and strategic business initiatives, in collaboration with New Energy Division’s (NED) Market Research and Strategic Partnership & Business Development units.
Benchmark and analyze the strategic plans of existing businesses to ensure alignment with Tenaga Nasional Berhad’s (TNB) overall strategic direction and objectives.
Perform detailed assessments of investment opportunities for strategic fit, including analysis of country risks and business/investment viability, in collaboration with NED’s Strategic Partnership & Business Development unit.
Analyze Profit & Loss (P&L) statements and balance sheets to assess the financial health of potential investments and existing business operations across NED subsidiaries.
Evaluate revenue streams, cost structures, and profitability metrics to identify areas for improvement and strategy realignment.
Analyze balance sheet components, including assets, liabilities, and equity across NED subsidiaries.
Lead the development of TNB’s international business strategy, working closely with the Corporate Strategy division and other business entities.
Coordinate and engage in target/KPI setting and review sessions with other departmental heads to ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
Monitor and review NED’s progress to ensure the achievement of targets and strategic objectives.
Provide mentorship and development opportunities to Analysts, focusing on enhancing their financial modeling and forecasting capabilities.
