Jawatan Kosong 2023 di WWF-Malaysia | Permohonan adalah dipelawa daripada Warganegara Malaysia yang berkelayakan dan berumur tidak kurang dari 18 tahun pada tarikh tutup iklan ditawarkan untuk memohon jawatan kosong di WWF-Malaysia


Positions:

1. OFFICER, PROTECTED AREAS (ULU MUDA, SUNGAI PETANI)

Responsibilities:

Apart from executing the major activities listed above, the incumbent is also responsible for the activities listed below:

1. Undertake day-to-day activities under the Protected Areas component of the Peninsular Malaysia Terrestrial Conservation (PMTC) Strategy FY23 – FY27 and associated projects.

2. Provides technical input pertaining to Protected Areas for conservation work with a focus on Ulu Muda Forest Complex and to a lesser extent Fraser’s Hill, and when required in general for Peninsular Malaysia in priority protected areas.

3. Coordinate and actively participate in internal and external meetings, related to protected areas in general as and when required. This includes organising stakeholder meetings as and when necessary.

4. Ensure that the relevant work components of the Peninsular Malaysia Terrestrial Conservation (PMTC) Strategy FY23 – FY27 and associated projects are implemented within the allocated budget and that project funds are spent in a timely and appropriate manner.

5. Represent the Peninsular Malaysia Terrestrial Conservation team and, when necessary, WWF-Malaysia on issues related to protected areas in the local and international arena via participation in conferences, workshops and meetings

6. Ensure delivery of quality project outputs that are consistent with the targets and milestones of the Peninsular Malaysia Terrestrial Conservation (PMTC) Strategy FY23 – FY27 and associated projects.

7. Supervise Daily Paid Assistant(s) / Volunteer(s) / Intern(s) / Casual Worker(s) as and when they are required

8. Be able to accept challenges constantly.

9. Provide technical support pertaining to protected area-related matters to the Ulu Muda Project Lead and Protected Areas Programme (PMTC) lead in any reasonable form and manner that may include preparing technical power points, providing technical comments and recommendations, reviewing technical documents, drafting official letters and making contact with key external persons related to the work on protected areas.


Specifications:

1. A diploma/degree and/or professional background in conservation biology, forestry, natural resources management, tourism, sociology or related subject.

2. Experience in conducting field surveys, data collection, GIS mapping and analysis related to biodiversity conservation or sociology would be an added advantage.

3. Prior experience in fieldwork and willing to accommodate flexible working hours, including weekends. And to work in hostile and isolated conditions.

4. Excellent written and oral skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia. Proficiency in a third language would be an added advantage.

5. A mature individual who is able to work with minimal supervision and willing to take up challenges.

6. Able to conduct biodiversity related field work. Ability to design sound biodiversity-related field research or contribute to study methodology will be an added advantage.

7. Computer literate and has the ability to use appropriate technology for presentation to partners, stakeholders and potential donors.

8. Must possess a valid driving license and has experience in driving long distances.

9. Pleasant disposition, hardworking, team player, committed, dedicated and focused to the conservation cause.

10. Good interpersonal skills, innovative thinking, versatile ability to work in a team and work independently.

11. Good understanding of current issues especially having knowledge on environmental and conservation issues.
